Privacy policy
This page explains what data is collected, why, and how to exercise your rights.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Cabinet d’orthodontie Michael Taieb, Dr Michael Taieb:

This policy covers the website taiebortho.ch. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
When you visit the website
The website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. Apart from the calendar on the “Book an appointment” page (see below), it loads no third-party content: fonts and images are loaded from our site.
The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., in the United States. Netlify is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which governs transfers of personal data to the United States. The host keeps technical logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) to keep the site secure and running properly. These logs are kept for a limited time.
When you book online
Online booking is provided by DentaGest, the practice management software. The “Book an appointment” page shows the practice’s calendar: it is loaded directly from DentaGest’s servers, which then receive your IP address. On some devices (Safari, iPhone, iPad), the “Choose a time” button opens the calendar on the DentaGest website instead. The information you enter there (such as your name, contact details and reason for the visit) is used to arrange your appointment.
The DentaGest calendar uses session cookies for signing in and booking. It also loads an icon font from Google Fonts and, when you confirm your details, Google’s reCAPTCHA anti-robot service. DentaGest’s and Google’s own rules apply to these services.
After booking, DentaGest brings you back to our website. The date and time of the appointment are in the address of that page so that it can show them; our website does not store them.
When you email or call us
If you contact us by email or phone, we use your details to reply and, if you are a patient of the practice, for your care. Your health information is covered by the dentist’s duty of confidentiality.
We advise you not to send detailed medical information by email.
Links to other websites
The website links to other sites, such as Invisalign, Spark or online maps. Nothing is sent to them unless you click the link. Once you are on their site, their own privacy rules apply.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, within the limits set by law, including the duty to keep medical records. Write to us at smile@taiebortho.ch or by post at the address above.
You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when the website changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies.
